Wagon Battery
Recharge It Your Way!
The Electric Wagon is a versatile battery-powered utility wagon that can do it all. However, the ingenuity of this wagon is not in its heavy-duty chassis, powerful electric motor or metal platform; instead, we focused on how the actual cart is powered. There are tons of electric wheelbarrows and carts that rely on heavy lithium-ion batteries or cords to power their motors. Instead of burdening our clients with yet another charger or a battery that will slowly die over time, we thought, why not use what everyone has in their home or on their job site —a tool battery. That is right, we power our Electric Wagon with generic tool batteries, allowing our clients to use what they have on hand to power the wagon.

Battery Brands
that work with our electric wagons
One of the biggest things our industrial, commercial, and recreational customers said to us during the design phase was that they wanted the flexibility to use their existing battery brand with our wagon. So, we decided to innovate and make that work. Our local powered wagons company are proud to offer adaptors for the best brands you already use everyday and to work with the your new Electric Wagon.
If your brand is not listed, please call us, and we can determine if one of our adapters meets your needs. As many of the top battery manufacturers will have similar adapters, we can normally make almost any brand work. However, we cannot guarantee that your specific brand, especially if it is not as popular here in Ohio, will work with the cart unless we have tested it beforehand.

18-20 Volt Battery Performance
Our standard electric motor utilizes standard 18-20V tool batteries to power its operation. The simplicity of this power setup enables our utility car to run continuously for up to two hours without requiring a battery or unit swap. When paired with our extra battery mount, that means you can cover a full morning of work without having to stop for a recharge.
We spent significant time designing our motor from the ground up and found that as long as we can get momentum through the cart, the actual battery drain is not very high. In fact, with a standard 12.0 Ah battery, you can run the Electric Wagon a total of 4.9 miles or 98 minutes of use before needing to stop and recharge, assuming continuous use while fully loaded.
| Battery Size | Distance (Miles) | Operating Time (Minutes) |
|---|---|---|
| 1.5 | 0.6 | 12 |
| 2.0 | 0.8 | 16 |
| 3.0 | 1.2 | 24 |
| 4.0 | 1.6 | 33 |
| 5.0 | 2.0 | 41 |
| 6.0 | 2.4 | 49 |
| 8.0 | 3.25 | 65 |
| 12.0 | 4.9 | 98 |
56 Volt Battery Performance
For those with higher-voltage batteries, we can also make that work. Whether you are looking to use a 56 Volt battery from the lawnmower or another piece of equipment on your property, the Electric Wagon can be powered by these powerful batteries with ease. Our commercial and industrial clients have preferred the larger battery packs due to the distance that they can cover in a single charge.
In our testing, we found that 12.0 Ah, 56 Volt batteries could power the Electric Wagon for 14.6 miles or 293 minutes of continuous use in both exterior and interior operations. If you are thinking of using one of your larger batteries, please indicate that when you purchase your cart, and we will ensure that we include a 56-volt attachment to get you powered up and on the way.
| Battery Size | Distance (Miles) | Operating Time (Minutes) |
|---|---|---|
| 2.5 | 2.4 | 49 |
| 4.0 | 4.9 | 98 |
| 5.0 | 6.1 | 122 |
| 6.0 | 7.3 | 146 |
| 7.5 | 9.8 | 195 |

Frequently Asked Questions
Let's get down to business and roll out the answers you're looking for. If we missed a question you really need answered, give our team a call today.
How fast does the wagon drain the battery?
The Electric Wagon uses an advanced electric motor that does not drain standard tool batteries quickly. In fact, in testing, the Electric Wagon has been proven to be the best USA-assembled battery-powered utility wagon on the market today. If you are using a standard 12.0 Ah, 18 Volt battery, you should expect to be able to run your utility wagon for approximately 4.9 miles, fully loaded. If you are using a 12.0 Ah 56V battery, you can expect it to run the Electric Wagon for approximately 14.6 miles before needing a charge.
How does the wagon perform in cold or hot weather?
The Electric Wagon performs quite well in inclement weather, with no concerns over its performance in extreme heat or extreme cold. However, the performance of your own batteries will depend on their age and make.
Is there a better-performing battery brand than others?
No, there is no better performing battery brand when it comes to performance for the Electric Wagon. Naturally, the 56-volt batteries will run longer than the 18-20-volt batteries. Still, over testing in our Wauseon, Ohio facility, as well as on location in Toledo, Maumee and Perrysburg, we saw no single brand (DeWalt, Milwaukee, E-Go and Ryobi) perform better out of the box when compared to others.
